The school’s initial aim is to investigate basic cell functions under different conditions of species, tissue, and physical-chemical environment. It then aims to define the parameters of normality as opposed to cancer cell biology. The school’s activities will be carried out along the following lines:
– the morphological and biochemical aspects of the nucleus and cytoplasm in relation to the various phases of the mitotic cycle
– the influence of external factors on the mitotic cycle – the biology of cell membranes
– bioenergetic systems
– the processes of protein synthesis
– the biology of the cancer cell.
The Course will be organised in lectures, seminars, and round tables, which will allow for useful review. In addition, it will serve as a promotional activity for the most interesting and current topics in applied cell biology.
